DUBLIN, GA, JANUARY 29, 2019 — Based upon the most updated forecast projections by the National Weather Service, which show no major impact from the current winter storm entering our area, Dublin City Schools will not cancel classes Wednesday.

Currently, the NWS is forecasting rain into the evening, with the potential for patches of black ice for north and central Georgia and lows in the mid-20s, with clear conditions and above-freezing temperatures Wednesday.

“We are not expecting any major impact from this storm,” said Superintendent Dr. Fred Williams, “and feel having class as usual is in the best interests of promoting the High Achievement and Success for All Students.”

While the storm is expected to leave the area within the next 12-18 hours, extreme cold temperatures are slated each morning for the remainder of the week. Parents of all bus riders are encouraged to dress their students appropriately at bus stops, and all drivers are urged to exercise caution on the roadways in the event of any road icing.

Please continue to look for any changes to school schedules through our website (www.dcs.irish), media partners and social media outlets.
