Fairview Park Hospital Welcomes Dr. Eric Chung To Team of Board-Certified Bariatric Surgeons with Launch of Weight Loss Surgery Practice
 
Dublin, GA (February 28, 2023) — Fairview Park Hospital is excited to announce the addition of experienced and fellowship-trained bariatric and general surgeon, Dr. Eric Chung, D.O., M.P.H, who will serve as the hospital’s newest care provider and will see patients at Fairview Specialists General and Bariatric Surgery starting February 27, 2023.       
 
Dr. Chung joins board-certified bariatric surgeons, Dr. Michael Blaney and Dr. Francisco Jacome, in performing minimally invasive surgeries and weight loss (bariatric) surgery leveraging advanced, laparoscopic techniques to support healthier outcomes for their patients. These include gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, revisional surgery, laparoscopic and robotic anti-reflux surgery, as well as diagnostic and interventional upper endoscopies. In addition to surgical weight loss, Dr. Chung is also a board-certified bariatrician, providing comprehensive medical weight loss management. He received both a Doctorate of Medicine and master’s degree in Public Health at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL and is an active member with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
 
In 2019, he completed his residency in General Surgery with the Stony Brook Medicine Community Surgery Program in Southampton, NY and finished a fellowship in both minimally invasive and weight loss surgeries at Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical Associates in Fresno, CA. Most recently, Dr. Chung served as the bariatric program director and bariatric and general surgeon for Baptist Health Fort Smith in Fort Smith, AR.
