• Dublin Rotary Club Awards ''Gifted Hands'' Book Report Winners

DUBLIN, GA (3/22/2021): The Dublin Rotary Club and the Rotaract Club at Oconee Fall Line Technical College are proud to announce the winners of their first annual Dr. Ben Carson’s “Gifted Hands” Book Report Contest. The book, “Gifted Hands” by Dr. Ben Carson, was donated to all local fifth graders this past February. The gift was made in an effort to promote literacy, and included a book report project, allowing each student to compete for a $50 Shop at Home Gift Card. The Shop and Home gift card can be spent locally at supporting small businesses in Dublin-Laurens County.

“One of Rotary’s focus areas is to strengthen the capacity of our community to support education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy,” said Will Curry, President of the Dublin Rotary Club. “The “Gifted Hands” Book Report Contest was a great way to support one of our missions by challenging students dig deeper into the inspiring life of Dr. Ben Carson. “Gifted Hands” has had a great impact on hundreds of fifth grade students in Dublin-Laurens County. We are very proud of all the participants and winners from the first-ever book report contest.”
