Dublin VA Medical Center to hold town hall for Whole Health
The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center will hold a town hall meeting in the facility’s auditorium in Dublin, for Veterans, their families and other stakeholders Monday, January 13 at 5 p.m. The main topic will be Whole Health and get feedback on how the medical center can improve. There will also be information about updates since the last town hall in Dublin, which was in September.
According to Medical Center Director David Whitmer, the medical center will hold town hall meetings for its stakeholders every quarter in Dublin and twice a year at each Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) to ensure they have a regular forum for making their opinions known and to keep them updated on VA’s developments.
Upcoming Town Halls:
Monday, Jan. 13 – (Dublin) – Carl Vinson VAMC Auditorium
Tuesday, Jan. 14 – (Milledgeville) – Georgia War Home – Birdsong Recreation Center
Wednesday, Jan. 15 – (Macon) – American Legion Post 3
Thursday, Jan. 16 – (Perry) – VECTR Center
Friday, Jan. 17 – (Brunswick) – American Legion Post 9
Tuesday, Jan. 21 – (Albany) – American Legion Post 30
Thursday, Jan. 23 – (Tifton) at Tifton CBOC
“The VA is shifting from a health-care system focused primarily on treating disease to one guided by a personalized health plan that considers the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and environmental needs of Veterans,” said Whitmer. He added, “Whole Health acknowledges that health care involves more than the physical human body.”
The Chief of Whole Health, Dr. Matthew Geyer, will be presenting as well. “Whole Health is how we are approaching health care,” Geyer said. “We want to focus on what’s important to the Veteran. Whole Health puts the Veteran in the center of care and in charge of their wellness.”
Tables will be set up with information on VA and medical center programs.
