    13 WMAZ’s Wanya Reese to Speak at OFTC’s Dublin BHM Event 


    Dublin, Ga., (OFTC) --13WMAZ Weekend Evening Anchor, Wanya Reese, will serve as keynote speaker for Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) Black History Month Event in Dublin, Tuesday, February 25. 

    OFTC celebrates Black History Month annually with a speaker and lunch for current students. The event will take place in the Dubose Porter Center and begins at 11 AM. 

    Reese joined the 13WMAZ team as a Multi-Skilled in January 2018 and was recently promoted to Weekend Evening Anchor and reports three days a week for the 5 and 6 PM shows.  

    He was born and raised in Charleston, SC., and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA., with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science. While at VCU, Reese played an instrumental role in the student-run broadcast, VCU Insight, where he worked as a Multi-Media Journalist, Anchor, Producer and Executive Producer.  

    After college, Reese interned and worked with NBC 12 (WWBT) in Richmond with the #1 news team.  

    He now calls Macon his home, even though he says he feels like Dublin adopted him. When he is not reporting, Reese enjoys mentoring, exploring Macon, finding the best hot wings, and spending time with family. Reese is also a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated.
