Media Operations Specialist

WMAZ-TV is searching for a Media Operations Specialist to perform a variety of technical and support functions in the execution of live newscasts, studio productions, remotes, and on-air operations. The position is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to start a career in television, video production, journalism, and digital content creation.

 

Responsibilities:

 

•  Operate audio console, robotic cameras, lights, microphones, IFB, monitors and script computers for live newscasts and productions.

•  Operate cameras and assist the station’s news team in the gathering and reporting of news and information to the community, including technically supporting live shots and shooting content as needed.

•  Edit video to support news and station projects.

•  Assist with setup and camera operation for live remotes including sports programs, community events, parades, and special projects.

•  Route and record video as needed using microwave, satellite, and bonded cellular technology.

•  Segment and prepare programs and pre-recorded material for on-air using applicable editing platforms.

•  Train in all aspects of news production, including directing newscasts.

 

Requirements:

 

•  Work or school-related experience in broadcasting is helpful.

•  Computer skills are essential.

•  Working knowledge of cameras, audio and video editing software is a plus.

•  Must be dependable, flexible in terms of scheduling, a team player and work well under pressure.

•  Must be able to lift objects up to 25 lbs.

•  Flexible availability is essential.

•  Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

 

Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.

Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
