Education
The leaders of Dublin-Laurens County know that a thriving economy and a high quality of life begin in the schools - from children to adults. Dublin-Laurens County is proud to offer excellent education to citizens of the city and the county. Our school system is made up of Dublin City Schools, Laurens County Schools, Trinity Christian School, Dublin Campus and the Heart of Georgia Technical College.

Within the Dublin City School system is one senior high school, one middle school, three elementary schools and one pre-kindergarten school. "Reach for excellence" is the goal within the system, and the 67% of graduates who further their education beyond high school are proof that the slogan is a reality.

The Laurens County School system provides opportunities for students to reach their potential. In the system are two high schools, two middle schools and three elementary schools.

And for almost three decades, Trinity Christian School has offered outstanding educational programs with a strong Christian tradition. 90% of their graduates attend college.

All of the schools in Dublin-Laurens County offer students an excellent source of learning combined with a variety of extracurricular activities. Local colleges and the technical college offer education opportunities without leaving the community.

Founded in 1984, Heart of Georgia Technical College offers high-tech
training in technical and industrial technology, medical arts, information
technology early childhood care and education, and business technology,
along with GED, basic skills and adult literacy classes. In 2000, HGTC
built the 60,000 square foot DuBose Porter Business and Industry Training Center, which was host to the 2000 & 2003 Georgia Chamber of Commerce Congressional Luncheons.

The University System of Georgia's Dublin Campus is made up of three state colleges: Middle Georgia College, East Georgia College and Georgia College and State University. Bachelor degrees are offered in nursing, education and business administration.

The library underwent a $3.1 million renovation and expansion in 1997 increasing the size to 32,000 square feet. The facility includes a 65 terminal network, a 100 seat auditorium, a Children's Center, a Heritage Center for genealogical research and a 125,000 collection of books, audio books and videos.
