What is a Chamber of Commerce?
The Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of the business community. It unites business and professional individuals, creating a central agency that lends itself to improving business and building a better community.
The Chamber of Commerce enables these people to accomplish collectively what no one of them could do individually. At the Dublin-Laurens County Chamber, our strength lies in attracting the greatest number of individuals and firms into membership, thereby creating a pool of resources – natural and human – from which ideas, energy, and finances can be drawn.
What does our Chamber do?
The major responsibility of the Dublin-Laurens Chamber of Commerce is the community’s economic well being. We work to increase wealth and prosperity by facilitating the growth of existing businesses and fostering new ones. This new wealth can be directed toward establishing and improving civic, educational, and cultural facilities to create the proper business climate for attracting more business and industry.
Who can and should belong to the Chamber?
All businesses, industries, and professionals are not only eligible to be Chamber of Commerce members, but should be! In addition to investing in the growth of your community, Chamber members also receive many benefits. Chamber members are referred on a daily basis to other businesses, industries and individuals looking to relocate in the Dublin-Laurens County area. Chamber members are also eligible for discounted health care rates and are invited to many networking events, such as Business After Hours, Business And Breakfast, Industry Appreciation Day, St. Patrick’s Kick-Off Breakfast, Dublin-Laurens Eggs & Issues, and the Annual Membership Meeting. All of our Chamber members also have an open invitation to attend any, or all, Board meetings.
How is the Chamber financed?
The Dublin-Laurens Chamber of Commerce is supported primarily by members of the business community who are interested in stimulating new and improved business and in building a better community.
Remember, your investment amount paid each year to the Chamber of Commerce should be considered as an “investment in your business and in the future of your community.” It is not charity or a donation.
